Instantly recognisable by its unique, orangey hue, copper sheet is a distinctive, malleable metal that’s up to hundreds of jobs. One of the basic chemical elements (CU in case you’ve forgotten your Periodic Table), it’s been popular for millennia. Our copper sheet plate comes in a range of thicknesses and we can cut it to size, supplying you with just the amount you need.
Traditionally, copper’s long list of pluses have made it a firm favourite in industry and construction: after all, it’s soft, brilliant at conducting heat and electricity, resistant to corrosion, and even has antibacterial properties. More recently, though, the metal has come into high demand by architects and interior designers simply because it looks great. Whether you’re looking for form or function, there are limitless uses for copper sheet. UK based, we supply sheet metal to clients all over the country.

Key Qualities of 2mm Copper Sheet
Copper naturally develops a protective oxide layer, known as a patina, over time. This layer not only enhances the metal’s appearance but also protects it from further corrosion, ensuring it maintains its integrity for decades, or even centuries.Key characteristics of our 2mm copper sheets include:
• Striking Appearance: The reddish-brown hue of copper adds a timeless and elegant touch to any project. The patina that forms with exposure to the elements further enhances its unique aesthetic appeal. • Corrosion Resistance: Copper is naturally resistant to corrosion, making it ideal for use in environments where other metals might deteriorate. • Non-Reactive: As a noble metal, copper is less reactive with corrosive elements, ensuring it remains durable even in harsh conditions. • Excellent Conductivity: Copper is highly efficient at conducting heat and electricity, making it a preferred material for electrical and thermal applications. • Malleability and Workability: The softness of copper allows for easy fabrication, including cold working, welding, and soldering, enabling it to be shaped to meet precise requirements. • Antibacterial Qualities: Copper’s natural antibacterial properties adds functionality in settings where hygiene is essential, such as kitchens and healthcare environments. • Long Lifespan: Its resistance to weathering and corrosion means copper can last for hundreds, or even thousands, of years, making it one of the most durable metals available.Popular Uses for 2mm Copper Sheet
The 2mm copper sheet is ideal for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications, offering versatility for domestic, industrial, and commercial purposes. Common uses include: • Piping and Plumbing: Copper’s durability and non-reactive properties make it a staple in piping systems, ensuring long-lasting and reliable performance. • Interior and Exterior Décor: Increasingly popular with architects and interior designers, copper is used for cladding, feature walls, furniture, and decorative accents to create a natural, luxurious look. • Electrical and Thermal Applications: Due to its excellent conductivity, copper is widely used in wiring, circuit boards, transformers, heat sinks, and other electrical and thermal systems. • Roofing and Cladding: Copper’s weather resistance makes it an excellent choice for roofing, cladding, and architectural features, providing both functionality and aesthetics. • Art and Craft Projects: Its malleability makes it perfect for hobbyists creating sculptures, models, and bespoke decorative items. • Kitchen and Hygienic Applications: Often used in splashbacks, worktops, and sinks, copper’s antibacterial properties are ideal for food preparation areas. • Engineering and Fabrication: Frequently used in industrial settings for custom machinery parts, components, and structural elements.Order 2mm Copper Sheet from Buy Metal Online

£39.20 – £1,154.40Important Notes
After accelerating the natural ageing and antiquing process of our copper sheets we typically finish our work using a gloss lacquer. Not only does this create a brilliant finish but it prevents further ageing of the metal therefore preserving the look and design created. Should the lacquer come off through cleaning, washing, excess heat etc the patina will change and continue to develop. As ‘live’ metals, direct contact with acidic liquids like vinegar, sauce, and fruit juices, will accelerate this reaction and the look of the product will change. Our gloss lacquered products are ideal when used for decorative and design purposes. In working environments - where contact, usage, and cleaning requirements are high - there is a probability that the gloss lacquer applied will wear off and the product will continue to change from its original look. As such our lacquered products may not be suitable for splashbacks that are exposed to high temperatures and/or steam. Should you require an aged copper product for a heavy usage purpose please contact our team to discuss the best options for you.Caring for your aged copper
Cleaning: On lacquered finished products use warm soapy water only with microfibre cloths. Do not use acidic or alkaline based products. Heat: Always use mats when setting down hot plates and cups. Spills: Clean up all spills immediately with warm and soapy water. Acidic or Akaline spills may affect the patina. Ferrous metals: some of these can cause a reaction on copper. Please avoid direct contact with items such as some candle sticks and cast iron pans etc.* Note on Lacquered products
Lacquer is essentially a coating of paint and should be treated and cleaned as such. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaning items as this with wear away the lacquer and chase the metal to continue to age and change. For heavy use products such as bar and table tops, always:- 1. Clean gently with warm and soapy water
- 2. Use heat mats when required
- 3. Avoid scratching
- 4. Clean spills immediately
- 5. Re-lacquer if required
